The I-20 form is used to obtain an f - 1签证 并且必须在学生进入美国时持有.S. 学生还必须在申请签证之前支付I-901 (SEVIS)费用. To pay the I-901 fee, go to the U.S. Immigration and Customs 网站. This fee is currently $350. I-20表格的日期通常是完成指定项目所需的时间.

Maintaining your f - 1签证

  • Your f - 1签证 will be used to enter the United States. Once you are in the U.S. 只要你保持你的F-1身份，你可以在签证到期后留在这里. However, you will not be able to leave the U.S. and return with an expired visa, even if your I-20 form is valid.
  • Always remain aware of your visa expiration date. 请跟 这些指令 续签签证.

就业

F-1学生可以申请选择性实践培训(选择)或课程实践培训(CPT)，在某些情况下从事校外工作.  Before beginning any paid or unpaid work off-campus, F-1学生必须事先获得副主任的具体工作授权, International Student Services and Engagement and USCIS. Off-campus employment cannot begin without possession of the proper documents; a CPT authorized I-20 form or the 选择 EAD card.  

选择

CPT

Post Completion Options

Additional Information

All international students are required to be insured with GeoBlue. 此保险必须在整个项目参与期间保持.

A tax workshop is held every February of each year.
